Engineering an Industrial Odyssey

Originally born on the Rhône, Hardboat has evolved into one of Lyon’s premier indoor Hardcore and Uptempo festivals. For their 2025 edition, we were commissioned to oversee the Light Design, LED Mapping, and Creative Direction to bridge the gap between their nautical roots and a massive warehouse scale.

We developed two distinct immersive environments:

  • The Abyss: A sub-aquatic stage where LED screens functioned as “pressure-resistant portals” into a dark, deep-sea world.

  • The Steam Engine: A high-octane Steampunk vessel, blending industrial machinery with rhythmic light synchronization. From custom Intro sequences to live visual performance, every element was engineered to match the relentless BPM of the Hardcore scene.

In 2024, Angers premier pop and hip-hop venue, Mid’Star, sought to revolutionize their weekly visual production. We overhauled their existing Resolume workflow, implementing a more robust and scalable system for live performance.

Beyond the technical backbone, we designed a suite of pixel-perfect, tailor-made visuals that bridged the gap between branding and immersion. Drawing inspiration from the club’s aviation-themed identity, we crafted a high-octane visual world where mechanical engine components and propellers met lush jungle aesthetics and hyper-realistic cloudscapes.

We started working with Trym at the beginning of the year, following him on tour for light design and VJing.

It was a natural progression to re-work his visual identity, providing a variety of custom content over time.

Impactful and dynamic, we focused on finding the perfect balance between immersive landscapes and powerful animations that complement his intense live performances.

We love the power of short narrative cinema. It gives us the space to express our vision and create atmospheres that fully immerse the audience in the artist’s world.

 

For Morgan Nagoya’s latest tour, we designed a brand-new visual package and a cinematic show intro.
