After our CC2015 presentation we got a lot of messages telling us that the new preview system didn’t work perfectly all the time and that the audio playback wasn’t as good as promised. Good new guys, Adobe just released a update who fix all that problems.
Here is a list of some improvements :
Fixed a problem that caused After Effects to not respond to commands to stop previews or to respond slowly when changing layer parameters, including entering text in a text layer. When the Warp Stabilizer VFX and 3D Camera Tracker effects were present anywhere in the project, they caused After Effects to become unresponsive to keyboard and mouse input during frame renders.
Audio now starts immediately during previews.
Stopping an audio preview returns the current-time indicator (CTI) to the previous position, as it did in previous versions of After Effects.
Adding audio markers during a preview (by pressing * on the numeric keypad) no longer causes the preview frame rate to slow down, which then caused audio to drop or stutter.
Scrubbing audio slowly now has a delay before beginning a loop around the CTI. The CTI and preview-time indicator (PTI) no longer disappear after scrubbing audio.
Auto-trace has been rewritten to address problems with the new threading architecture.
The z-axis handle on 3D layers works as expected.
Changes to Camera Raw settings apply to the footage as expected and without causing Photoshop File Format errors. MXF files from Sony cameras again import as expected.
Audio plug-ins like Trapcode Sound Keys and BorisFX Beat Reactor now function correctly.
Multiple copies of certain effects, like those from RE:Vision Effects, no longer produce errors about I_MIX_GUID_DEPENDENCIES.

” I love Galantis since their first release “Smile” I was amazed by that sound quality, perfect melody and fresh atmosphere. I was so happy to see they are successful in France with Runaway and as I prepared my performance for europe days in armenia this was the first Vj clip I made.
I try to have a part where it introduce the atmosphere of the track without to precise lyrics. Than on the “I wanna Runaway” I want it to expand the impact of the people singing like crazy. And then I made a tunnel with some europe stars for the europe days version. As I was working on my next visual serie I found that plexus tunnel would fit perfectly on the drop and give him the energy it need. Finally I’m really happy with the result. “

What would be our vj world without the amazing Trapcode plugin suite ?
Trapcode was created in 2001 by Swedish man Peder Norrby and Published by American company Red Giant Software. Since then they have release some very famous plugin like Particular, Form, Mir, 3D Strokes and many many more. Their plugin have been used in blockbuster movies, all over the internet and by almost every Vj/Motion designer.
We are happy to present you the first pictures of the Next Trapcode Plugin : Tao
Tao looks like a fusion between Form and 3D Strokes. We ask our man Zyper what he think about these first preview and infos.
“Tao looks like that advanced particle system, but without 500K particles to render ! I think he will get the advanced functions from Mir, Lines or Point rendering with advanced shading and material control. Also if I refer to the renders from the Trapcode team it looks like you can cut the line in separate 3D objects and that is really new and heavy. I can’t really explain how much excited I am to get my hands on that new plugin, but with just these first preview it gives me a lot of ideas to make some crazy new Vj tools.”
